Fangirl Quest

Fangirl Quest is an ongoing project that combines our love of TV and movies, photography, travel and much more.

What started as an epic road trip to filming locations all over the UK eventually led to a series of photos we like to call SCENEFRAMING. Though this is still the heart and soul of our Quest, it has grown into something much bigger...

We attend events and premieres, visit attractions, meet other fans, organise giveaways and competitions and go on road trips as often as we can. And then we blog about it all.

See you on the road!

The photos aren’t brand new, but our website and these travel stories are!

Chepstow Castle and Dunraven Bay AKA Bad Wolf Bay

Hello. I have been wanting to know what is the progress on the perks for your indiegogo campaign when are we going to get them? It has been quite a while since the thing ended and I've been eagerly waiting for some news about it. Please do answer thanks very much! Love to hear some news about it! :)

A few of you have been asking about the perks you’ve been promised when you supported our Indiegogo campaign. Here be a few answers!

"When do I get mine?"

It depends on which perks you have chosen. Some of the artwork (doodles, paintings) have been delivered already, but we’re still working on the rest of them.

Postcards and personalized photos from the road have all been delivered. We hope all the cards made it to their destinations! If you have not received yours, please let us know and we’ll think of something. We’ve heard of at least one instance where the postal service has not been up to the task.

Art prints, photo posters and cards have been printed and ordered (and they look awesome!), but there’s still a few bits missing from the full Supernatural and Sherlock sets and we’d like to send everything to you at once. Same goes for the big goodie sets.

The filming location guide is the next thing we will be working on. We have all the info, photos and ideas ready, it just needs to be put down as a beautiful pdf file.

The photo book is in the making, but delivering that one will take the longest, as it’s a lot of work. Shiploads of photos to edit, so many memories to be written down as words.

Then comes the apology. Originally we planned we’d have everything done and delivered by the end of the year. However, real life has affected our plans a bit. There’s been sickness in the family, there’s been unexpected travelling for work, full-time job offers we just couldn’t refuse and right now, we’re both fighting a very annoying flu that’s been going on for over a month or so and slowed everything down a bit.

So, we’re somewhat behind the schedule and we’re very sorry for it. But we swear on our love for Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hiddleston, we’re not NOT going to deliver you beautiful supporters whatever it is you’re waiting for!

You made the best trip of our lives possible and we still have so many more photos and travel tips to show you guys for it, too! :)

If you have any questions or comments, don’t hesitate to e-mail us at info(a)fangirlquest(dot)com. We can even try and give you an estimated delivery time, but if you’re ok with “as soon as possible”, then good!

All the love, all the love, and loads of kisses from Wales & Finland.

Dear Netflix!
We noticed you were looking for people who’d like to visit filming locations in the US to take photos for you. Awesome competition!
However, we’re sad to have missed the opportunity (given as it was for US residents only), but we just wanted to let you know we’re either a) very pleased to have been an inspiration for the photos you have used when marketing the competition or b) extremely spooked by the incredible coincidence, given the location and style of i.e. this one.
We went to sceneframe some Doctor Who and Forrest Gump in that particular valley in May and we see you’ve enjoyed a trip there as well. Amazing.
Anyway, we just wanted to let you know we’d be thrilled to help you out in any of your filming location photography needs anywhere in the world. Because that’s literally what we do - just check out our blog and website if you need any further proof.
All the best to our new sceneframing club members!

Here’s a cute photo of Benedict hiding under a massive umbrella being interviewed on the red carpet of the London Film Festival premiere for The Imitation Game. Hope it makes you smile!
(There’s much more to come and some great stories to share. Stay tuned, sweeties.)

Our beautiful, wonderful, magnificent team was announced as a runner-up of GISHWHES 2014 tonight and it feels all sorts of amazing.
We’d like to thank a lot of people but our minds have gone blank. We’re just posting high-five selfies to our group on Facebook, each of us giddy in their own little corner of the world.
Girls. You rock. Supporters. You rock. Cwtch.

We brought The Beatles back to Abbey Road!
Well, yeah. Obviously we didn’t really bring anyone back (no matter how much we’d love to hop into a TARDIS and bring these young fellas back with us to pose for some photos), but we did our best by sceneframing them at the legendary location.

BBC’s Merlin: Glastonbury Tor
After watching the roadtrip documentary The Real Merlin & Arthur by the goofy duo Bradley James and Colin Morgan, we really got into the Arthurian legend and decided to visit some of the places featured in it.

An ode to True Detective
Because of this show, I want to go back to Louisiana. I want to take photos like these. I want to write a book, a script, a play. I want to be a better artist, photographer and person. I might not agree 100% with the ending, but it doesn’t matter. If a show manages to do all this to a viewer, it’s achieved something pretty cool.
-Tiia
EDIT: Everyone who’s interested in the symbolism and deeper meaning behind.. well, everything in the show, should read THIS. My mind was blown by the show and now it’s been re-blown.

PengwingGate is the cutest scandal you’ve ever seen

Today, it’s been all about pengwings. Ever since I saw this article, I’ve been following the commentary and giggled my way through the day reading it all. Amazing.

Thank you Benedict Cumberbatch for your weird pronounciation, thank you fans and media for making yet another BC related bit of news into a way bigger deal than it needs to be, and thank you orchestra for playing that hilariously cute flute tune in the background.

I think my flu got cured simply because of pengwings.

Okay, okay, okay. I'm randomly visiting South Wales in a few months (I make it sound like I live on another continent, when I am, in fact, only in England) and I'm wondering if you have a favourite/best choice for a place for me to see that was used in a scene in Sherlock? Ta!

Oh, there are quite many! The museum, Giovanni’s, even the Senate building is amazing as a building. The Packet for a comfy pub experience, that one parking lot if you just want to see the so called HoboLock location aka stand on a parking lot, ha! Do you know where these places are, or should we talk specific addresses? :)

New website and other things!

Ok, yay! Now that we finally have our official website up and running, we can be a little bit more relaxed here on Tumblr. So let’s TALK! Any questions? Any comments? Any magnificent photos of Benedict or Hiddles?

Our ask is open for it all and we’ll publish the best ones :)

PS: We’ve also got Twitter & Facebook. And Instagram. And all those other things. Phew, that’s a lot of things.
