Fangirl Quest

Fangirl Quest is an ongoing project that combines our love of TV and movies, photography, travel and much more.

What started as an epic road trip to filming locations all over the UK eventually led to a series of photos we like to call SCENEFRAMING. Though this is still the heart and soul of our Quest, it has grown into something much bigger...

We attend events and premieres, visit attractions, meet other fans, organise giveaways and competitions and go on road trips as often as we can. And then we blog about it all.

See you on the road!

The preview screening of Sherlock 3x01: The Empty Hearse
BFI Southbank, London, December 15th, 2013

All the stars! Incredible buzz! Happy fans! We arrived at the scene early in the morning, but we weren’t the first ones, oh no no. At least 40 fans were there already queuing for the return tickets, and many of them actually got in. Good for you, queue masters!

We met some incredibly sweet fans and gave out a bagful of candy hearts. We had no idea which cast members were attending, so we all just waited and mingled and then these people started walking in one by one…

Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman, Amanda Abbington, Louise Brealey, Una Stubbs, Andrew Scott, Mark Gatiss, Sue Vertue, Steven Moffat and director Jeremy Lovering were among the Sherlock production team & cast attending, but we spotted these familiar faces as well: Derren Brown, James Rhodes and Jonathan Ross all present and smiling.

We are an absolutely spoiler free blog, so we won’t say much about the episode. Only that you should avoid all spoilers at any cost, because believe us: it will be better that way.

After the screening Lovering, Moffat, Freeman, Cumberbatch, Gatiss and Vertue got on stage to be interviewed by Caitlin Moran. We heard a few interesting stories about the episode (AKA spoiler warning for the Q&A if you consider watching it online!) but then it all went a bit wrong. Moran asked Freeman and Cumberbatch to read out a fanfic she’d spotted online, thinking it would be good fun. It wasn’t, really. She apologised right away but the fandom started a storm of complaints online later on. Exhibit A, B.

We’re hoping the storm will calm by the time you all get to see the amazing new episode(s). All in all, it was a great event and we had the time of our lives. Thank you co-fans, thank you BFI & the absolutely brilliant team Sherlock!
